In the midst of a terrible storm Friday evening, we somehow made it to the Andrews football game. It poured down on the way there...I'm talking about wipers full blast with the hazard lights on going 25 mph on the highway, poured. We got there and it decided to lightly rain a few times, but we were covered and had an umbrella so we stuck it out. In the last 2 minutes of the game the rain came down! This was our signal to leave, we grabbed a snack on the way home and spent the rest of the night playing and snuggling.
Zaylen was so tired after the game
Saturday was an adventure as always. We took our usual Saturday morning trip to our local farmers market where we enjoyed a good breakfast the The Moose Cafe, grocery shopped for the week, looked around a craft fair they had going on, and spent some good family time together. Saturday mornings are the absolute best! Once we got home I cleaned up a bit and made some finishing touches on our halloween costumes. My stepdad Brent and brother Tanner came over after lunch to help Zak take our bed apart. Our bed is so beautiful, but it is a piece of work! There are 20 parts to it and each part weighs about 70 pounds, I could be over exaggerating right now, but I'm pretty close to the truth. We decided to take our bed down and push the boxspring/mattress against the wall so that we wouldn't have to worry about Zaylen falling off. It is a tall bed and when you fall off you hit a thick plank of wood on the way down...not fun, especially for my 7 month old. Since taking it apart we have had so much more room and are much happier now! After all that we had to get ready for our friends Ashley and Roberts childrens birthday party. I'm not sure if I wrote that last sentence correctly, I hope you get what I'm trying to say. Addison and Austin have their birthday parties together since their birthdays are so close, and this year they had the cutest halloween theme! Everyone was dressed up and the kids had a blast taking a hay ride, getting their faces painted, and enjoying a fun bonfire. We left a little early and came home to have a good relaxing night.

Monday morning I woke up to my sister being in labor, that was a great present to wake up to! She had her baby boy Camden early in the morning, he was 7 pounds and 11 ounces, and she had such a great short labor. Everything went well and they are both home now. Zaylen woke up earlier than usual so we went to see Shana and the baby before the hospital crowd got there. Once we got back home it was a pretty normal day for us. Zaylen played and napped while I cleaned and cleaned. Zak had a game that evening and didn't get home till after 8, so it was a long day for us. Zaylen and I ventured out to Food Lion that evening and picked up chinese food on the way home. It was a rainy Monday with no husband...I was not cooking. After Zachary got home, we ate and went to bed early. We've been getting into bed a littler early every night the past few days and I am soaking that up!

Tuesday is almost too crazy to put into words. Every part of my body was sore at the end of the day. Zaylen has been teething pretty badly and last week I got hardly anything done due to holding him the entire day each day, he just wanted to be held and rocked. Don't get me wrong, I loved and cherished every minute of it, but my house got a little out of hand. I cleaned some Sunday and Monday, but Tuesday was a killer day! I cleaned the guest bedroom, both bathrooms from top to bottom, the kitchen, the living room, our bedroom, Zaylens bedroom, moved furniture, vacuumed, dusted, swept, wiped baseboards, cleaned the fridge, and some other little stuff. Zachary got home later than usual, our friends Victor and Annie came to stay with us for the week, and we had to be at another friends house at 6:30 for dinner. I was so tired last night! We went to bed at a good hour, but we were woken up by a screaming baby in the middle of the night. I am assuming it was a night terror, nothing would calm Zaylen down, I stood up with him, rocked him, talked to him, turned the light on, and nothing would help. The scariest moments I have encountered in motherhood are the ones where I have no idea what to do. His cries cut me straight to the core; I feel so helpless. Thankfully he finally cooled down after a few minutes of it, I rocked and fed him and he went back to sleep.
I hope you all had a wonderful start to the week and I hope you continue to be blessed throughout the remainder of it!
xoxo
